We first started as an informal group of 15 young entrepreneurs
2016
Registered and certified by the Registrar General's Department

Officially launched the association in Accra, Ghana

Grew to over 100 members

Became a member of the Private Enterprise Federation

Became a member of the Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs - Africa

Grew to 9,200 members
2023
Launched Ghana's first Young Entrepreneurs and Startups Support Fund (YESS Fund)
2023
Launched the Young Female Entrepreneurs Programme (YoFEP)
2024
Launched Ghana's first young entrepreneurship co-working space (yecSpace)

Launched the National Business Agenda (NBA)
The Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs (GCYE), formerly known as Ghana's Young Entrepreneurs, is the national association of young business owners from all private enterprise sectors. GCYE is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 with the mission to unite, engage, and promote the businesses and innovations of young entrepreneurs in Ghana.
GCYE has over 18,000 members and is registered with the Registrar General's Department as a Non-Governmental Organization and the National Youth Authority (NYA). GCYE is also a member of the Private Enterprise Federation (PEF) and the Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs - Africa (CAYE Africa).
GCYE's work revolves around five thematic areas: advocacy, capacity building and mentorship, investment and capital mobilisation, research, and trade facilitation.
To achieve its goals, the organization offers a range of programs and initiatives, including the Young Entrepreneurs and Startups Support Fund (YESS Fund), the Young Entrepreneurs Annual Summit and Expo, the Youth Entrepreneurship Index Report, yecSpace, the Young Female Entrepreneurs Program, and the Student Entrepreneurs Programme.
These programs provide young entrepreneurs access to resources, networking opportunities, mentorship, and funding support to help them grow their businesses. The organization also leads advocacy efforts, including developing the Ghana Startup and Innovation Bill, which will provide an incentive framework for startups when passed into law.
With its focus on empowering young entrepreneurs and promoting entrepreneurship in Ghana, GCYE significantly impacts the business community.

To network, unify and build the capacity of young entrepreneurs across Ghana, focused on driving trade and advocacy for reforms that promote and enhance a young entrepreneurship culture.
Achievements
Regional Chapters
Successfully established regional chapters across the country.
Business Development Services
Provided varied business development services to over 3,000 young entrepreneurs.
GCYE Hub
Launched the GCYE Hub and have since trained over 200 entrepreneurs for NEIP in 2018.
EMT Meeting
Consistently represented young entrepreneurs at the private sector and Ghana's Economic Management Team meetings.
Tax Waiver
Lobbied for a 5-year tax waiver for young entrepreneurs, which the Government of Ghana adopted in 2018.
Funding and Grants
Provided over 200 funding and grant opportunities and information to members (2017 to 2021).
Young Entrepreneurs Summit and Expo (YES)
In collaboration with government youth agencies, organised Ghana's largest gathering of young entrepreneurs in 2018 and 2021.
Capacity Building Seminars
Organised over 60 training and capacity building seminars for young entrepreneurs across the country.
Youth Forums, Dialogues and Surveys
With development partners, organised nationwide young entrepreneurs forums, dialogues and surveys, whose reports inform and advise policy formulation.
Government CAP BuSS Loans
Advocated for young entrepreneurs, 70% of whom got funding from the Government's COVID-19 stimulus package.
Ghana Startup Bill
The lead organisation in drafting and advocating for the Ghana Startup Bill.
YESS Fund
Launched Ghana's first-ever entrepreneur-to-entrepreneur fund, the Young Entrepreneurs and Startup Support Fund.
Youth Business Performance and Sustainability Index
With Participatory Development Associates (PDA) and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), produced Ghana's first Youth Business Performance and Sustainability Index.
